The Brisbane Budo Kai Kan is always interested in hearing from other traditional Japanese martial arts and cultural groups who would like to make use of the centre.

This could be as a permanent member of the community or for once off events.

Situated across from the Brisbane Convention Centre at Southbank, the Budo Kai Kan is an aesthetically pleasing and  permanent space with excellent exposure and access. Established since 2002, the centre provides a secure training and cultural space in a non-competitive community fostering Japanese "Ways" ('Do'), in the heart of Brisbane.

Features

The Budo Kai Kan is a Japanese style dojo with a forty tatami mat training space and small cultural room. It is suitable for all martial arts styles and Japanese cultural groups.

As a member of the centre, your group will have the benefit of a central location, easily accessible by train, bus and ferry, with parking in nearby streets.

All groups are provided with pages on this website. This includes not only dedicated,  permanent pages advertising your school, but also advertising for any special events you may be holding or photo galleries recording such events.

Our aim is to provide a clean, Japanese environment for you and your students,  one imbued with the Japanese Way, where students have access to both culture and budo, each enhancing the other.

The members of the Budo Kai Kan do not compete with each other for students, but rather support and encourage all schools, both cultural and martial:

Costs

Cultural room is a flat rate of $15 per hour

Tatami space per hour is:

One hour per week: $35

Two hours per week: $30

More than two hours per week: $25

Rent is paid by the month and calculated based on a 52 week year, divided by twelve monthly period
